This Privacy Policy explains what information Heavenka (heavenka.app, "we", "us") collects when you visit the site, how that information is used, which third parties may receive it, and the choices you have. If you have a question that this page does not answer, email [email protected].

1. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and security provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site against abuse: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring URL, pages requested, and the date and time of each request. We may use privacy-focused, aggregate analytics (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to understand which guides are useful. These reports show totals, not individual profiles.

Information you choose to send us

If you email us (for example through the links on our Contact page or the "Report an error" links on our guides), we receive your email address, name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use it only to reply, fix the issue you reported, and keep a record of corrections.

Calculator inputs

Headcounts, salaries, budgets and other values you type into our calculators are processed by JavaScript in your browser. Some tools remember your last inputs in your own browser storage so you do not have to re-enter them; that data stays on your device and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them in three ways:

  • Essential: remembering your cookie-banner choice and keeping the site secure (for example, bot protection by our host).
  • Analytics: aggregate, privacy-focused measurement of page views.
  • Advertising: once advertising is enabled, cookies set by Google and its partners to show and measure ads (see below).

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how some features work.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

Heavenka is free to read because it is supported by display advertising. We use (or intend to use) Google AdSense. Advertising operates independently of our editorial process; advertisers do not choose or review our content.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info/choices (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).

If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will be less relevant to you. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), ads are only personalized after you give consent through a Google-certified consent management platform; otherwise non-personalized or limited ads are shown.

4. How we use information

  • To deliver, secure and maintain the website.
  • To understand which guides and calculators are useful and improve them.
  • To respond to messages, corrections and vendor documentation you send us.
  • To display advertising that funds the site (through Google, as described above).
  • To comply with legal obligations.

We process data on the basis of our legitimate interests (operating and securing the site, aggregate analytics, answering your messages), your consent (personalized advertising and non-essential cookies, where consent is required), and legal obligations.

6. Who we share information with

  • Hosting and security: Cloudflare, Inc., which serves the website.
  • Advertising: Google and its certified ad technology partners, once ads are enabled.
  • Email: the provider that hosts our mailboxes, when you write to us.
  • Authorities: when required by law or to protect our rights and users.

We do not sell personal information for money and do not share it with software vendors we review.

7. Data retention

Server and security logs are kept by our host for a limited period according to its own policies. Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a corrections record, and are then deleted. Information held by Google is governed by Google's retention policies.

8. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time.

  • EEA/UK (GDPR / UK GDPR): you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states: you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise this right, use the opt-out links in section 3 and email us with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share".

Send requests to [email protected]. We respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children's privacy

Heavenka is written for professionals buying workplace software. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, they rely on recognized safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We will update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes. Significant changes will also be noted on this page.
